Brenda Kay (Sharp) Wickline, 74

LINCOLN, IL - Brenda Kay (Sharp) Wickline, 74, of Lincoln, passed away June 9, 2024 at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield.Brenda was born August 24, 1949, in Mattoon, IL., the daughter of Loren Curtis and Jane (Buckalew) Sharp. She married Galen E. Wickline on June 12, 1999. She worked for more than 40 years as an insurance producer, retiring from Moriearty Insurance Services. Brenda was a 1967 graduate of Lincoln Community High School. She enjoyed shoes and shopping. Her family was her greatest treasure in life. She adored her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and was a loving and devoted wife.Survivors include her husband Galen Wickline, daughter Lori Kay (Gannon) Crosier (Shawn Payne), son James T.E. (Stephanie) Wickline, granddaughter Katie Elizabeth (Crosier) Binkley (Justin), grandsons Keegan Wickline and Xander Guy, great grandsons Case Lee Maurice Stanley and Bennett Eugene Binkley, great granddaughters Kimber Elizabeth Crosier and Lailah Roxann Binkley, brothers Curtis D. Sharp and Dennis L. (Suzan) Sharp, sister-in-law Karen Sharp, and three nieces, three nephews, and one great niece.She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Larren L. Sharp, and sister-in-law Linda Sharp.Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home with funeral services following at 7 PM.Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's or to Memorial Medical Center Regional Cancer Center Infusion Lab and will be accepted at the funeral home.

Jean Gossett, 98, of Lincoln, IL, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Lincoln Memorial Hospital.Jean was born on May 6, 1926, in Lincoln, the daughter of Vernon and Frances (Musick) Brown. She married William "Bill” Gossett on April 28, 1949, in Lincoln.Jean is survived by her husband, Bill; sons, Gregory (Bobbie) Gossett and Geoff (Paula) Gossett; seven grandchildren, Kimberly (Jaime) Schmidtt, Jerry (Mollie) Gossett, Crystal Gossett, Chris Gossett (Liana Plants), Kali Gossett, Kevin Gossett, and Gabe Gossett; and ten great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, James M. Brown.Jean was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Lincoln. She co-founded the Lincoln Community Theater. Jean was also a member of The Book Club and the president of "The Irritating Bill Gossett Club”. She enjoyed traveling and loved her family.Services for Jean will be held at 6:00 pm on Friday, June 14, 2024, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. A visitation will take place prior to the service on Friday from 3:00 pm - 5:30 pm also at the funeral home. A private family burial will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made in Jean’s name to the Humane Society of Logan County.

CENTRALIA, IL - Lincoln-Michael Todd Lewis, 64, of Centralia formerly of Lincoln went to rest peacefully on Friday, June 7, 2024 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia.His Mass of Christian Burial Service will be on Monday, June 17, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church. Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon at the Peasley Funeral Home in Lincoln from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. A Rosary Service will be held at 3:30 p. m. prior to the visitation. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Lincoln following the service.Michael Todd Lewis was born on August 25, 1959 in Lincoln the son of Kingsley Lewis and Mildred Proctor Lewis.He is survived by his mother and step father: Mildred (Thomas) Pence, step mother: Marla Lewis. Republished with updated service informationLINCOLN, IL – John Clifford Wilmert, 80, of Lincoln, passed away June 6, 2024 at St. Clara's Manor. Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home has been entrusted with his care.John was born November 10, 1943, in Lincoln, the son of Clifford John Wilmert and Margaret Alberta (Sparks) Wilmert. He married Sandra Baumhardt and they had three children. He then married Joan Patton. He later married Alice Doehring.John began his education in a one room schoolhouse. He then attended Chester East Lincoln, graduated from Lincoln Community High School in 1961 where he was involved in the choir, 4-H, and FFA, graduated from Lincoln College, and then from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale where he majored in forestry and agronomy. He was a livestock and grain farmer. John enjoyed arrowhead hunting, forestry, geology, guns, and knives. He was a member of several farm organizations, the NFO, NRA, and participated in the tractorcade to Washington DC in the 1970's. He was an active member of St. John United Church of Christ, serving on the church council, singing in the choir, and participating in family fellowship. If you knew John, you knew that he was a storyteller, and if you didn't know him, he would make you feel like you did. John never met a stranger. Surving are his 3 daughters from ex wife Sandy (Baumhardt) Wilmert: Yolonda Martin, Stacey (Chris) Marten, and Dana (John) Damm; grandchildren: Kate, Jessica, Nick, and Max Martin, Daniel, Ben, and Mae Marten, and Djuna Damm.He was preceded in death by his parents.Visitation will be from 9 AM until 11 AM on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at St. John United Church of Christ in Lincoln with funeral services at 11 AM also at the church. LINCOLN, IL - Anthony "Tony" Zimmerman, 79, of Lincoln, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on June 7, 2024.Tony was born August 7, 1944, in Lincoln, IL., the son of Melvin and Lois (Shea) Zimmerman. He married Barbara Hashman on August 21, 1964. She preceded him in death on June 27, 2006.He worked construction and odd jobs for years. He had a business called "Have Truck Will Haul." He was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Tony enjoyed being with his family and he liked to think that he was a comedian. He loved his home, but he enjoyed going out and being social too. He and his wife used to love to take evening drives to look at the deer.Survivors include his children Cathy Ann Witt and Anthony (Lori) Zimmerman; grandchildren: Kimberly Payne, Alexus Buckles, Kayla Zimmerman, Skyler Witt, Zach Zimmerman, Andrew Zimmerman, Ashlynn Zimmerman, and Mallory Zimmerman; great grandchildren Presley Alan Payne, Grace Lynn Payne, and Eleanor Goodwin.He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, son in law Gene Witt, and brother Melvin Zimmerman Jr. "Lynn".Visitation will be from 11 AM until 12 Noon on Friday, June 14, 2024 at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home. LINCOLN, IL - Richard L.” Rick” McCoy, 83, of Lincoln, IL, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2024, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.Rick was born March 2, 1941, in Clarksburg, WV, the son of Harry and Ruby (Swiger) McCoy. He married Judith "Judy” Boyer on May 8, 1982, in Elkhart, IL.Rick is survived by his wife, Judy; son, Greg McCoy; two stepsons, Rickey (Rhonda) Skelton and Ron (Kim) Skelton; seven grandchildren, Hailey McCoy, Zachary (Kristen) McCoy, Lesley (Chris) Wilson, Lindsey (Trent) Kavelman, and Tyler Skelton (Ana Velasquez); seven great-grandchildren, Karter, Louie, Bennett, Brielle, Penelope, Sylas, and Zoey; and his niece, Diane Savina.He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Betty (Ed) Cox; and his nephew, Terry (Kathy) Cox. Rick was the last of his immediate family.Rick worked as an electrical engineer at Pittsburgh Plate Glass (PPG) for thirty-nine years. He was a member of Lincoln Christian Church as well as the Miata Car Club. Rick was a quiet man unless he was talking about history, especially the Civil War and World War II. He was delighted by bluegrass music. As the love of each other’s lives, Rick and Judy enjoyed their time together. His kind personality will be missed by all.Services for Rick will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, June 17, 2024, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. There will be no services at this time.Gary was born August 26, 1944 in Pea Ridge Illinois, the son of Harold H. Parn and Anna Marie (Gherkin) Parn. He married Christine Yeates on December 21, 1969.Gary enjoyed fishing, camping, boating, and mushroom hunting. He also enjoyed watching and playing fast pitch baseball. He owned a quality handyman service that specialized in construction, lawncare, and landscaping. His family describes him as the greatest man that ever lived. He never met a stranger, was funny, very social, and was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. "Since before any of us were born, God planned for us to share our lives together.. He knew we would laugh together and cry together. He knew we needed each other... to hug, to help, to teach, to serve...to Love.”Survivors include his wife Chris Parn, son David Parn, daughter Denise Goble; grandchildren: Cassidy Bruns, Kolton Cody, Korbin Cody, Julian Lee, and Ethyn Parn; brothers Niles Parn and Tony Parn, and siter Janice Pern; several nieces and nephews also survive.He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Lori Cody, brother Howard Parn, and sisters Juanita Anderson, Carol Durfee, and Irma Yates.Memorial donations may be made to the family.

LINCOLN, IL - Robert "Pa” Wolpert, 74, of Lincoln formerly of Mt. Pulaski passed away on Friday, June 7, 2024 in the comfort of his own home.Pa was born on November 16, 1949 in Mt. Pulaski, IL the son of Marion C. & Louise (Koester) Wolpert. He married Karen L. "Ma” Tendick on March 21, 1970 in Mt. Pulaski, IL.Pa is survived by his wife; his children, Jason W. (Cassie) Wolpert and Angel L. Wolpert; his grandchildren, Logan Wolpert, Cobi Estes, Emery Matthews, and Maxam Roberts; his brothers, Kenneth Wolpert and Donald Wolpert; his sisters, Marilyn Greathouse and Joan Piller. Additionally Pa is survived by all his special nieces & nephews.Pa was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Charles, Alvin "Bodge”, Larry; and his sister, Patricia.Pa was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Mt. Pulaski, and he retired from the bottle plant after 45 years of service. Anyone who knew Pa knew that he was the life of every party he went to; he was always in his happy place when he was celebrating with his friends. But above all else, Pa loved and adored his family.Per Pa’s wishes, there will be no services scheduled. Memorial donations may be made in Pa’s name to the Healthwell Foundation. MT. PULASKI - Dolly Leo Buckles, 99, of Mt. Pulaski, Illinois was called home by her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, June 4th, 2024, at Lincoln Memorial Hospital.Dolly was born on January 7, 1925, in Elmira, West Virginia, to Carl H. and Tina (Hall) Campbell. She married Leroy Keith "L.K.” Buckles, Jr. on December 22nd, 1945, in Washington D.C. He passed away on November 4th, 2002, at the age of 78.Surviving are their children: Lisa Jill (Stephen) Rinkel of Mahomet, IL, and Leroy Keith (Terri) Buckles III of Jacksonville, Arkansas; five grandchildren: Christa (Ryan) Jenkins, Caitlin (Christopher) Ptasienski, Alexandra Dolly Buckles, Maria (Andrew) Sventek, and Jimmy (Cecilia) Polatsitis; and eight great-grandchildren: Campbell, Cullen, Lila, Logan, Mason, Brandon, Damon, and Atticus. Also surviving are two of Dolly’s ten siblings: Stanley Campbell of Servia, West Virginia, and James Edwin (Doris) Campbell of Golita, California. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her siblings: Harvey, Denton, Donald, Carl, Jr., Dell, Roger, Maxine, and Carolyn.Dolly graduated from Mt Pulaski High School. After marrying L.K., she volunteered to be the bookkeeper for the Buckles farm and worked for a local law firm. Her greatest joy was raising her children. Dolly was a member of the Mt. Pulaski First Christian Church where she was an active and dedicated member for more than three quarters of a century. She loved volunteering and was a member of the Loyal Daughters of the First Christian Church, a volunteer at Vonderlieth Living Center for 28 years, volunteered for 20 plus years at the Mt. Pulaski Historical Museum, and 12 years as a Piecemaker (making quilts) for St. John’s Lutheran Church of Mt. Pulaski. Dolly was also a longtime active member of Mt. Pulaski American Legion Auxiliary Post 447.Funeral Services for Dolly will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, June 13, at the Mt. Pulaski First Christian Church. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service (from 1:00 to 2:00 PM) also at the church. Burial will take place at Steenbergen Cemetery following the service.Memorials may be made in Dolly’s memory to the Mt. Pulaski First Christian Church, the Mt. Pulaski Historical Museum, or the St. John’s Lutheran Church Piecemakers. Arrangements have been entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mt. Pulaski.
